Claude Video Export: How to Export a Video from Claude as MP4

Alex Mercer · Updated on October 29, 2026

The fastest way to export a video from Claude is claude2video: paste your Claude Design share link, or drop the exported file onto the page, and download a frame-perfect MP4 at up to 4K and 60 fps. It runs in the browser, needs no signup, and the standard export is free.

Claude Design has a built-in export. It gets you a file. claude2video gets you a better one: every frame rendered exactly as the browser draws it, your choice of resolution and frame rate, and background music or an AI voiceover baked into the same MP4 if you want them. This guide walks through the whole thing, from a finished animation in Claude to a video file you can post anywhere.

Can You Export a Video from Claude?

Yes. Anything you animate in Claude Design can be exported as an MP4 video. What Claude gives you natively is the animation itself, which is React code that plays in a browser tab, plus a basic export. For a shareable video file at full quality, run that animation through claude2video.

This matters because a Claude Design animation is not a video until something renders it. It is a tiny web app. Playing it in a tab looks great, but you cannot upload a tab to YouTube, drop it into Keynote, or send it to a client who refuses to open HTML files. The export step is what turns code into a file, and the quality of that step decides how the video looks.

How Do I Export a Claude Video as MP4?

Give claude2video your animation in one of three ways, pick your settings, and download. All three routes end at the same MP4. Pick whichever matches what you have in front of you.

Method 1: Paste the Share Link

This is the default route and takes about a minute.

  1. Open your project in Claude Design.
  2. Click Share, open the shared link in a new tab, and switch to fullscreen.
  3. Copy the URL from the address bar. It includes a token that lets claude2video see your animation.
  4. Go to claude2video.com, choose the URL tab, paste the link, and click Export to MP4.
  5. Pick your resolution and frame rate, then click Render Free.
  6. Wait for the render and download your file.

Method 2: Replace the Domain

Same result, no copy and paste. With your Claude Design share link open in the browser:

  1. Click into the address bar.
  2. Replace claude.ai with claude2video.com.
  3. Press Enter.

Before:

https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/abc123?token=xyz

After:

https://claude2video.com/public/artifacts/abc123?token=xyz

The token and every other parameter stay put. claude2video reads them, checks the animation, and drops you straight into the settings panel.

Method 3: Upload the Exported File

Use this when the share link needs a login, when the link has expired, or when you already downloaded the project.

  1. In Claude Design, click Share, select Project archive, and click Export. You get a .zip file.
  2. Open claude2video.com and stay on the Upload tab.
  3. Drag the .zip (or a standalone .html export) onto the page.
  4. If the archive holds more than one HTML file, pick the one with your animation.
  5. Choose settings and render as above.

The upload route does not depend on Claude's servers at all, so it keeps working even if the share link stops.

What Export Settings Can I Choose?

Resolution, frame rate, watermark, and length. The standard combination is free, and the premium options cost a few cents each through prepaid credits.

SettingFreePaid
ResolutionNative or 1080p4K
Frame rate24 or 30 fps60 fps
WatermarkSmall claude2video markNone
LengthUp to 90 secondsLonger clips

Paid options start at 2 cents for a watermark-free or 60 fps render and 5 cents for 4K. The price appears next to the render button only when you pick a premium option, and you sign in and top up a balance only at that point. For most social posts and presentation clips, free 1080p at 30 fps is plenty. Reach for 60 fps when the animation has fast motion, and for 4K when the video will play on a large screen.

How Do I Add Music or a Voiceover to a Claude Video?

On the result screen, after the render finishes. Claude Design animations are silent by design, so audio is added at export time rather than in Claude.

  • Music: pick a track from the built-in library. It is trimmed to your video's length automatically.
  • Voiceover: paste a short transcript and pick a voice. claude2video generates the narration with AI and lays it over the video.
  • Both: the music ducks under the voice while it speaks, then comes back up.

Everything mixes into one MP4. No timeline, no second export. A handy trick: ask Claude Design itself to "write a voiceover transcript for this video, plain text, in sync with what is on screen", then paste the result straight in. The full walkthrough is in How to Add Music and a Voiceover to a Claude Design Video.

Why Not Screen Record the Animation Instead?

Because the recording is a copy of a copy. Screen recorders compress what your monitor shows in real time, so gradients band, fast motion drops frames, and the resolution is capped at your display. claude2video renders each frame directly from the browser engine, so the MP4 matches what the code describes rather than what your screen managed to show.

Fast motionDrops framesEvery frame captured

If quality does not matter for a quick Slack clip, screen recording is fine. For anything people will look at closely, use the exporter. The detailed comparison is in Screen Recording vs Frame-by-Frame.

What If the Export Fails?

Most failures come down to the link or the animation itself, and both are quick to fix.

  • "Your preview link has expired." Share tokens do not live forever. Open the project in Claude Design, click Share again, and paste the fresh link. Or export the .zip and upload it instead.
  • "We can't access this design link." The link needs a login. Switch to the Upload tab and drop the project archive on the page.
  • "This page doesn't have an animation timeline." Your design is a static layout or a slide deck, not a video. claude2video shows a prompt you can paste back into Claude Design that wraps the design in a proper timeline with a fixed duration. Run it, re-share, and try again.
  • Encoding or renderer error. Rare, and usually a one-off. Hit Retry.

If the animation plays only after a click or hover inside Claude, ask Claude Design to make it autoplay with no interaction. Exporters, including this one, cannot click for you.

What Can I Do with the Exported MP4?

Anything you do with any other video file. It plays on every device and uploads to every platform.

  • Post it to X, LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts
  • Drop it into Keynote, PowerPoint, or Google Slides
  • Use it as a product demo on a landing page
  • Send it to a client who will never open an HTML file
  • Keep a reel of your Claude Design experiments

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I export a video from Claude? Create the animation in Claude Design, click Share, and copy the share link. Paste that link into claude2video.com, or replace claude.ai with claude2video.com in the address bar, and the site renders the animation frame by frame into an MP4 you can download. If the link needs a login, export the project as a .zip from the Share menu and upload the file instead. The standard export at 1080p and 30 fps is free and needs no account.

Does Claude have a built-in video export? Claude Design has a built-in export, and it gives you a file. claude2video exists because people want more from that step: a frame-perfect render at up to 4K and 60 fps, control over frame rate and resolution, and the option to add music or an AI voiceover in the same pass. Think of it as the export you reach for when the video is going somewhere that matters.

Is claude2video free? Yes for the standard export. A render at native or 1080p resolution, 24 or 30 fps, up to 90 seconds, with a small watermark costs nothing and needs no signup. Removing the watermark, going to 60 fps, 4K, or exporting a longer clip costs a few cents per render from a prepaid balance. The price shows up only when you toggle one of those options, so the free path never asks for an account.

What file format does the Claude video export use? MP4 with H.264 video, which plays on every phone, laptop, and TV and uploads to every social platform and slide tool without conversion. Audio, if you add music or a voiceover, is mixed into the same MP4 file, so there is nothing to sync afterward.

Why does my Claude Design share link not work in claude2video? Either the token has expired or the link requires a login. Share tokens are temporary, so open the project again, click Share, and use the new link. If the project is private to your organization, the public link route will not work at all; export the Project archive (.zip) from Claude Design and upload that file on claude2video instead. The upload route never depends on the link.

Is it safe to paste my Claude share link into claude2video? The share link is the same URL you would send to a colleague, and the token in it only grants viewing access to that one animation. claude2video uses it to open the animation in a headless browser, render the frames, and encode the video. If you would rather not share the link, use the file upload route, which sends only the exported project.

How long does a Claude video export take? Usually under a minute for a short clip. Render time scales with length, resolution, and frame rate: a 10-second animation at 30 fps is 300 frames, while the same clip at 60 fps and 4K is 600 frames at four times the pixels. Longer or higher-quality renders can take a few minutes. You get a download link as soon as encoding finishes.

Can I export a Claude video on Mac, Windows, or a phone? Yes. claude2video runs entirely in the browser, so there is nothing to install on any platform. Paste the link or upload the file from whatever device you are on, and download the MP4 when it is ready. Rendering happens on the server, not on your machine, so a laptop with little spare power works just as well as a workstation.
